BB05 - Introduction to business administration, sales and procurement

Course 1: Introduction to Business Administration

The compulsory module's aim in the bachelor's degree is to provide students with a comprehensive introduction to the basics of business administration. The students get to know basic financial and success economic terms and specifics of business management as well as basic business management terms. The core content is conveying financial and profitability management, ideal-typical management processes for the targeted management of a company and entrepreneurial finance and performance processes. Besides, the typologies of companies and their legal forms are explained. The bachelor's degree program's compulsory module provides an introduction to the system of financial accounting and the double-entry bookkeeping system. The focus is on the proper booking of business transactions and the opening and closing balance sheets and profit and loss statements. Furthermore, the lecture deals with the presentation of corporate finance and performance processes in the annual financial statements.

Course 2: Introduction to Business Administration group events

The knowledge acquired from course 1 is actively applied in smaller exercise groups (up to a maximum of 100 students) through exercises and case studies in course 2. This promotes the ability to independently solve and critically reflect on business problems. In addition, we provide students with additional exercises via an e-learning platform.

Course 3 and course 4 on sales and procurement will be taught by Prof. Dr. Peter Kenning, who is responsible for the Chair of Business Administration, esp. Marketing.
