BB05 - Introduction to business administration, sales and procurement
Course 1: Introduction to Business Administration
The aim of this compulsory module in the Bachelor's degree program is to provide students with a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of business administration. Students learn the basic concepts and specifics of financial and performance management as well as fundamental business terms. The core content is the teaching of financial and performance management, typical management processes for the targeted management of a company and entrepreneurial financial and performance processes. Typologies of companies and their legal forms are also explained. Furthermore, the compulsory module in the Bachelor's degree course provides an introduction to the system of financial accounting and the double-entry bookkeeping system. The focus is on the correct booking of business transactions and the opening and closing of balance sheets and profit and loss accounts. The lecture also deals with the presentation of corporate financial and performance processes in the annual financial statements.
Course 2: Introduction to Business Administration group courses
The knowledge acquired in course 1 is actively applied through exercises and case studies in course 2 in smaller exercise groups (up to a maximum of 100 students). This promotes the ability to solve business problems independently and to reflect on them critically. In addition, we provide students with further exercises via an e-learning platform.
Prof. Dr. Peter Kenning, Chair of Business Administration, in particular Marketing, is responsible for course 3 and course 4 on sales and procurement.
